The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) is pleased to announce the introduction of the Mandatory Continuing Professional Development (MCPD) Rules, 2025. This initiative aims to enhance legal practice in Nigeria by ensuring that all legal practitioners engage in continuous learning.

Key Highlights:

  • Continuous Learning: All legal practitioners must participate in accredited Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programs to enhance their professional competence and the quality of legal services rendered.
  • Minimum Credit Hours: Practicing lawyers are required to obtain a minimum of five (5) credit hours annually.
  • Implementation and Compliance: The NBA Institute of Continuing Legal Education (NBA-ICLE) will oversee the implementation and compliance of these rules.
