The Nigerian Bar Association Women Forum (NBAWF) joined voices of celebration and advocacy at the official launch of the book
“Restoring Women and Children’s Rights: A Practical Approach” authored by Dr. Hilda Desmond-Ihekaire, Chairman of the NBA Ahoada Branch, Rivers State.
Representing the Forum’s leadership at the landmark event was Mrs. Ugwochi Agala, Secretary of the NBAWF, who led a delegation of members in a show of solidarity and support for one of the most pressing issues in our legal and social landscape—the protection of vulnerable groups.
The book, authored by the distinguished Dr. Desmond-Ihekaire, presents a well-researched, experience-driven exploration of legal and social remedies for advancing the rights of women and children in Nigeria.
It bridges academic insight with grassroots relevance, offering clear, actionable pathways for legal practitioners, policy advocates, and stakeholders in justice reform.

Speaking on behalf of the Forum, Mrs. Agala commended the author for her dedication and intellectual contribution to a cause that aligns strongly with the Forum’s mission.
“The NBA Women Forum celebrates this scholarly milestone and remains firmly committed to supporting legal tools, reforms, and initiatives that uplift women, protect children, and shape a just society,” she stated.
The book launch marks not just a literary accomplishment but a clarion call to action for the legal community and beyond.
