In a landmark development for the legal community in Northern Nigeria, the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Sokoto Branch has officially secured accreditation as a Service Provider with the Nigerian Bar Association – Institute of Continuing Legal Education (NBA-ICLE).
This milestone achievement empowers the Caliphate Bar to independently organize accredited Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programmes, including workshops, trainings, and seminars—reinforcing its commitment to advancing legal knowledge and strengthening professional competence among legal practitioners within and beyond the Branch.
Speaking on the accreditation, the Chairman of NBA Sokoto Branch, Rashidat Muhammed, Esq., described it as a major step forward for the Branch.
“We are proud of this accomplishment. It is a testament to the quality, vision, and dedication of the leadership and members of the Caliphate Bar,” she stated.

“With this new status, we are set to roll out CLE programmes that will equip our members with practical tools and contemporary legal knowledge essential for excellence in practice.”
The Branch extended heartfelt appreciation to the leadership of NBA-ICLE, led by Sarah Omega Ajijola, Esq., and the National Executive Committee of the NBA, ably led by Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, for their confidence in the capacity of the Sokoto Branch to deliver on this important mandate.
This accreditation not only recognizes the Branch’s capacity but also underscores its unwavering dedication to promoting professional ethics, enhancing legal capacity, and ensuring the continuous relevance of its members in a dynamic legal landscape.
NBA Sokoto will soon release a calendar of upcoming CLE activities, which will offer both physical and virtual participation options. Members are encouraged to engage actively as the Branch continues to champion professional development across the region.
