At the opening of the 2024 Legal Year of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria, the NBA President was represented by the esteemed 2nd Vice President of the NBA, Mrs. Bolatumi Animashaun, who delivered a goodwill message for this significant occasion.
The National Industrial Court, established to address labor disputes and ensure the protection of workers’ rights, plays a vital role in safeguarding labor justice and the public interest. The commencement of the Legal Year marks an opportunity for reflection and renewed commitment to justice within the labor sector.
In her speech, she highlighted the crucial role the National Industrial Court plays in ensuring fairness and equity for both employers and employees.
We reaffirmed the NBA’s commitment to supporting judicial reforms, advocating for the computerization of court processes, and promoting access to justice through the prompt and efficient dispensation of cases. Labor justice is a cornerstone of social stability and economic growth, and the work done by this Court is essential to the future of our country.
Furthermore, we must continue to uphold the integrity of our judiciary, which remains a beacon of modesty, integrity, and the rule of law. As we move forward, the Nigerian Bar Association stands firm in its dedication to working alongside the National Industrial Court of Nigeria to promote justice, fairness, and equality in labor relations for the benefit of the entire nation.
