The President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, paid a solemn condolence visit to the family of the late Bright Nda Owhor, a young lawyer who was tragically murdered in Rivers State.
Welcomed by members of the bereaved family, friends, and colleagues of the deceased, the NBA President conveyed his heartfelt condolences and shared in their grief over the devastating loss.
In an emotional address, Mazi Osigwe described the passing of Mr. Owhor as a deeply personal and painful tragedy, stating:
“This is a heartbreaking moment. Bright was not just a member of our noble profession — he was a close friend and a brother. In him, I saw immense promise, integrity, and character. His untimely and violent death is not only a loss to the Bar, but a stark reminder of the worsening insecurity that plagues our society. We mourn his loss, but we will not rest — we demand justice.”
He offered prayers for the family and assured them of his personal and institutional support as they navigate this difficult time.
