In my address, I urged the audience to embrace the virtues that defined Chief Gani Fawehinmi—courage, unwavering commitment to justice, and relentless pursuit of the rule of law.
Chief Gani’s life exemplified the importance of standing resolutely for what is right, even in the face of formidable challenges. His dedication to championing the rights of the oppressed and advocating for good governance continues to inspire us all.

I took a moment to commend the NBA Ikeja Branch for their exceptihonal dedication in consistently organizing this annual lecture. Their commitment to preserving Chief Gani’s ideals is a service not just to the legal profession but to Nigeria as a whole.
By fostering critical discussions on national progress and justice, the branch upholds the values that Chief Gani passionately defended.
As we reflect on 15 years after Gani, it is imperative that, as legal practitioners and citizens, we draw strength from his legacy.
