Nigerian Bar Association President, Mazi Afam Osigwe SAN, has congratulated the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on his historic assent to the Nigeria Maritime University Bill.
He noted that this milestone comes several years after the idea of the university was proposed as a potential solution to the agitation in the Niger Delta.

Osigwe emphasized that the establishment of the Nigeria Maritime University will not only generate employment for the people and residents of the Niger Delta but will also provide Nigerians with specialized skills in the maritime sector.
He described the President’s assent as a significant step toward strengthening the region’s relative peace.

Furthermore, he called on the people of the Niger Delta to safeguard the institution and ensure it remains a conducive learning environment for future maritime experts.
