The NBA Osogbo Branch is set to undergo a transformative phase as a forward-looking agenda has been unveiled, aimed at improving member services, enhancing professional development, and repositioning the Branch for sustainable impact. Below are key highlights of the new agenda:
1. Transforming the Branch Office into a One-Stop Information Hub
A major highlight of the agenda is the proposed transformation of the current Robing Center into a comprehensive Information Hub. With the office already staffed by two dedicated secretarial officers, this upgrade will offer:
- Real-time insights and updates on lawyers, court operations, and relevant security agencies (including the Police, Civil Defense, and DSS).
- Instant access to well-organized data and useful legal information.
- Easy-to-use secretarial and administrative resources.
- Up-to-date services that promote smooth, professional engagement.
This transformation is expected to deliver a vibrant, inclusive, and service-oriented environment that supports members in their legal practice.

2. Reinvigorating Monthly Meetings
To improve attendance and foster richer interactions, monthly meetings will be revamped to include pre-meeting sessions with high-profile guests. These guests will include:
- The Honourable Attorney General,
- Judges of the High Court,
- Chief Registrars and Magistrates,
- Senior officers from security agencies.
These interactive sessions will center on pressing issues affecting justice delivery, enhancing the relationship between the Bar and the Bench while fostering member engagement and professional development.
3. Creative Incentives for Financial Members
To reward members who pay their Bar Practicing Fee (BPF) and Branch Dues promptly, the Branch plans to introduce a value-driven resource platform. Financial members will gain access to:

- Daily court sitting schedules and court lists,
- Course lists,
- Rules of Court,
- Diaries and other practice-enhancing resources.
This initiative will serve as both an appreciation and a professional toolset to support committed practitioners.
4. Repositioning the Branch, YLF & NBAWF for Greater Impact
The agenda also includes the creation of two dedicated desks within the Branch Office for the Young Lawyers’ Forum (YLF) and the NBA Women’s Forum (NBAWF). These desks will:
- Serve as platforms to energize and coordinate activities,
- Foster collaboration with NBA committees and associations such as FIDA,
- Facilitate the hosting of webinars, seminars, and in-house training programs.
Through these platforms, members will have easier access to Continuing Legal Education opportunities, with the potential to earn up to 5 CPD credit points annually under the NBA’s Mandatory Continuing Professional Development (MCPD) scheme—all within the Branch.
This bold and well-structured agenda reflects a renewed commitment to inclusivity, innovation, and service, ensuring the NBA Osogbo Branch remains responsive to the evolving needs of its members.
