The National Executive Council (NEC) of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) is the highest decision-making body of the Association after the Annual General Meeting (AGM). It comprises national officers, branch chairmen and secretaries, past presidents and general secretaries, as well as other statutory members responsible for setting policy directions, taking binding decisions, and providing guidance on the affairs of the Bar.
Enugu, August 23, 2025 — The NBA NEC convened its Pre-Conference Meeting on Saturday at the Multipurpose Hall of the International Conference Centre, Enugu, in anticipation of the 2025 NBA Annual General Conference.
During the high-level session, council members deliberated extensively on issues affecting the Bar, the justice sector, and the Nigerian nation at large. After robust discussions, a number of resolutions were formally adopted and captured in a communiqué, which has now been circulated to members of the Association.
NBA General Secretary Dr Mobolaji Ojibara, who issued the communiqué, noted that the resolutions reflect the Association’s continued commitment to strengthening the legal profession, safeguarding democratic values, and promoting reforms within the justice delivery system.

The meeting served as a critical precursor to the 2025 Annual General Conference in Enugu, which is expected to host thousands of lawyers, jurists, policymakers, and stakeholders for constructive engagement on law, governance, and national development.
