Lawyers: The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) National Litigation Committee has taken a proactive step to safeguard the rights of its members by launching a dedicated helpline for lawyers who experience harassment or maltreatment by security agencies while carrying out their professional duties. This initiative underscores the Committee’s commitment to protecting the dignity and functionality of legal practitioners in Nigeria.
Speaking on the development, Isah Abubakar Aliyu, the Secretary of the Committee, reaffirmed its dedication to addressing incidents of harassment head-on. According to Mr. Aliyu, the Committee has actively intervened in multiple cases since its inauguration and remains steadfast in its resolve to ensure lawyers can perform their roles without fear or undue interference.

The goal is to create a conducive environment where lawyers are respected and supported in their professional duties.
