NBA Citizens Liberties Committee Chair, Nuhu J. Egya, Commends FIDA Kwara’s Advocacy as 2025 Law Week Kicks Off

The Chairman of the Citizens Liberties Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Nuhu J. Egya, has extended warm goodwill to the leadership and members of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), Kwara State Branch, on the occasion of their 2025 Law Week, holding from 26th to 31st July 2025.

In a message that radiated deep admiration and solidarity, Mr. Egya described the theme of the Law Week as timely and necessary, urging reflection on the ongoing quest to protect the rights, dignity, and welfare of women and children in Nigeria.

“This year’s celebration offers a timely platform to reflect on the progress and challenges in protecting the rights and dignity of women and children in Nigeria. The work that FIDA continues to do in advancing access to justice, promoting gender equality, and defending the vulnerable is truly commendable,” he said.

He further lauded the Kwara Branch of FIDA for its unrelenting pursuit of justice, transformative advocacy, and bold interventions in the legal landscape, stating that their impact goes beyond the courtroom, inspiring change across communities.

Mr. Egya, who leads the NBA’s strategic focus on civil liberties and human rights, noted that platforms such as the FIDA Law Week are crucial for building collective momentum toward a more just, inclusive, and equitable society.

“I salute your resilience, your voice, and your impact in building a fairer and more inclusive society. I hope that the deliberations during this week will ignite greater collaboration, stronger advocacy, and renewed commitment to the cause of justice,” he concluded.

He congratulated the Branch and wished them a successful, insightful, and impactful Law Week.
