Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya is a distinguished barrister and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) practitioner with deep expertise in domestic and international commercial arbitration.

She represents private, corporate, and state clients across a wide range of commercial matters before trial and appellate courts in Nigeria. Passionate about dispute resolution, she has served as counsel and arbitrator in arbitral proceedings and has successfully mediated numerous disputes.

Mrs. Badejo-Okusanya began her legal career at Olaniwun Ajayi LP. From 2007 to 2011, she served as Senior Special Assistant on Justice Sector Reform to the Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN, within the Office of the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice. She was later appointed General Counsel to the Governor from 2011 to 2015.

A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK), she has served on the Executive Committee of CIArb (Nigeria Branch) and is an accredited mediator with CeDR. She is also a member of prestigious international bodies such as:

  • International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA)
  • Arbitral Women
  • ICC Nigeria
  • London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA)

Actively involved in shaping Nigeria’s arbitration landscape, she was a member of the Reform of the Arbitration & Conciliation Act Committee, which led to the passage of the Arbitration & Mediation Act 2023, and a contributor to the NESG-NASSBER Arbitration and Dispute Resolution Working Group.

She currently serves on the Board of the Lagos Court of Arbitration (LCA).

Fondly known as “Mrs. B,” she is a sought-after voice in litigation and ADR. Her professional affiliations include:

  • International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA)
  • International Bar Association (IBA)
  • Commonwealth Lawyers Association (CLA)
