Lawyers in Business Unveils New Housing, Land-Banking Offers Ahead of October 21 Treasury Bills Bid

Lawyers in Business Institute has announced a new phase of its Lawyer Mass Housing and Land-Banking Scheme, alongside preparations for the next Treasury Bills primary-market bidding scheduled for Wednesday, October 21, 2026.

According to promotional information released by the organisation, the scheme is targeted at lawyers and professionals seeking to combine real-estate ownership with longer-term investment planning.

The estate is located at Benaseth Galdimawa Hills, Lugbe East, Abuja, and is being promoted with FCDA-allocated land and an approved building plan, according to the organisers.

Three property options are currently advertised under the scheme:

  • 300sqm plot built to DPC — ₦24.5 million, reduced from ₦29 million
  • 450sqm plot built to DPC — ₦31.7 million, reduced from ₦34.8 million
  • 600sqm plot built to DPC — ₦36.5 million, reduced from ₦40.1 million

The organisation says buyers may make a 50 per cent initial deposit and spread the outstanding balance over a period of up to two years.

It is also offering a 5 per cent facilitator or agency fee for successful referrals.

The latest announcement builds on Lawyers in Business’ continuing campaign around financial independence for legal practitioners, with the initiative combining property acquisition, land banking and fixed-income investment.

Earlier this week, LegalLinkz reported that the organisation was coordinating a pooled Treasury Bills arrangement involving 20 participants contributing ₦2.5 million each towards a ₦50 million primary-market bid. Nigerian Law Updates

The latest promotional material now points prospective participants towards the October 21 Treasury Bills primary-market bidding, continuing the organisation’s effort to encourage lawyers to diversify beyond income earned solely from legal practice.

The underlying proposition is that lawyers can gradually build a second layer of financial security through income-producing property and fixed-income instruments.

That idea is increasingly relevant within the profession, where discussions around lawyers’ welfare are expanding beyond immediate financial assistance to include long-term savings, investment, retirement planning and sustainable income.

LegalLinkz has also previously reported on the NBA Jalingo Branch’s proposal for an Investment and Sustainability Fund as part of a wider conversation on financial resilience within the Bar. Nigerian Law Updates

For the real-estate component, prospective participants are being invited to inspect the scheme and independently review the title, development approvals, payment structure and contractual documentation before committing funds.

This is particularly important because property investments can involve title, planning, construction, liquidity and completion risks.

Legal practitioners also occupy a critical role in ensuring proper due diligence in real-estate transactions. A previous LegalLinkz analysis by Oyetola Muyiwa Atoyebi, SAN, emphasised the importance of legal compliance and professional scrutiny in property investment. Nigerian Law Updates

The Lawyers in Business scheme is being promoted under the theme “Own • Build • Secure • Invest”, with the broader message that professionals should deliberately convert earned income into assets capable of producing future value.
