It is with profound respect that I extend my commendation to the leadership and members of the Muslim Lawyers’ Association of Nigeria (MULAN), FCT Chapter, on the occasion of the 2025 law week under the able guidance of Al Bashir Likko, Esq.

This gathering stands as a testament to purposeful organization and disciplined vision, and it is hoped that the executive will deliver an event that reflects both commitment and clarity of direction, an achievement worthy of this great chapter.

The theme, “One Umma One Bar”, particularly presents a compelling call for unity, urging us to recognize that the strength of the Nigerian Bar is rooted in how deliberately we build cohesion, uphold shared ethical standards, and act with a collective sense of responsibility to the community we serve.

This is more than a conceptual alignment. It is an invitation to elevate our professional standard by strengthening ties across diverse bodies within the Bar. Our united voice reinforces the delivery of justice, deepens equity, and enhances the rule of law.

I am confident that the engagements during this law week will profoundly advance genuine conversations and birth practical reform paths that will enhance our professional standards.

I do not doubt that MULAN remains integral to enriching our legal profession.

I therefore wish MULAN FCT chapter a productive, insightful, and truly impactful law week.

former General Secretary, Nigerian Bar Association (NBA)
