ISWAP Claims Responsibility for Nigerian Army Base Attack in Borno

Militants from the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), an offshoot of Boko Haram, have released photographs documenting their attack on a Nigerian Army Forward Operating Base in Damboa Local Government Area, Borno State.

Security sources confirmed the incident to SaharaReporters, with one noting, “The camp FOB Sabon Gari was attacked around 4 a.m. on Saturday with heavy weaponry. So far, we have recovered over seven bodies.”

This attack comes despite recent assurances from President Bola Tinubu that his administration is achieving unprecedented success in the fight against terrorism.
