As the NBA Eti-Osa Branch counts down to its 2025 Annual Dinner, I am truly pleased to extend my heartfelt goodwill to the Chairman, Executives, and distinguished members of this vibrant and forward-thinking Branch.
This year’s theme, “Law and Culture: A Night of Nigerian Elegance,” speaks to me in a very profound way. It reminds us that the practice of law does not exist in a vacuum, our ethics, perspectives, and even the courage with which we advocate are shaped by the very culture that raised us.
Allow me to say this plainly:
Eti-Osa continues to set the tone for what a modern, confident, and culturally grounded Bar should look like.
As I reflect on the essence of this event, I am reminded of something I often say within the Eastern Bar Forum:
“The law may guide society, but culture gives society its heartbeat. When both meet, we create not just lawyers, but a community.”

Your upcoming Dinner promises exactly that kind of experience.
I must commend the Branch for assembling an outstanding evening chaired by the venerable Hon. Justice Olabode Rhodes-Vivour, JSC (Rtd.), a jurist whose depth, clarity of thought, and legacy continue to inspire all of us who follow behind.
For the young lawyers, this Dinner is more than a social event, it is a classroom without walls.
For the seniors, it is a moment to reflect on the journey, reconnect with colleagues, and inspire the next generation.
For all attendees, it is a reminder that the Bar thrives when we come together, not just in the courtroom but also in fellowship.
As you prepare for this elegant celebration, I encourage you to show up fully, engage, network, honour the awardees, and embrace the unique blend of law and culture that makes Eti-Osa stand out.
I wish the Chairman, the Branch leadership, and every guest an unforgettable night of connection, insight, and true Nigerian elegance.
