Fred Aidenagbon, Esq: The Nigerian Bar Association, Benin Branch, and the Edo State Ministry of Justice have been plunged into mourning following the sudden transition of Fred Aidenagbon, Esq., a dedicated State Counsel and a beacon of humility within the legal profession.

Prof. Foluke Dada-Lawanson has expressed her profound sorrow, describing the loss as a “void that resonates across the entire Bar.” She noted that Fred was not just a lawyer, but a man whose character served as a silent sermon on the virtues of peace and professional integrity.

“The passing of Fred Aidenagbon is a heartbreaking reminder that some of the brightest lights among us are often the most modest,” Prof. Dada-Lawanson shared. “He was a colleague whose quiet nature spoke volumes, earning him a place of high esteem through his actions rather than his noise. To lose such a young, vibrant, and gentle soul is an irreparable blow to our noble profession.”

Reflecting on the nature of such a loss, she offered words of solace to his family and the Benin Branch:

“The stars that shine the brightest are often those that set too soon, but the light they leave behind continues to guide us through the darkest nights.”

Prof. emphasized that the legal community is “poorer today” for the absence of a colleague known for such rare kindness and good character. She reminded all legal practitioners that while the law deals in facts and evidence, the heart of the profession is built on the bonds of brotherhood and mutual respect.

“To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die,” she remarked, quoting Thomas Campbell. “Fred has not truly left us; he has simply transitioned into a blessing that will forever be woven into the fabric of the Bar.”

“I urge us all to honor Fred’s memory by embodying the gentleness and dedication he showed every day. May the Almighty grant his family the fortitude to navigate this valley of grief, and may his soul find eternal rest in the bosom of our Creator.”

“Those who walk softly leave the deepest footprints.”
