FIDA Nigeria, in collaboration with ActionAid Nigeria under the Women Voice and Leadership initiative, recently organized an intensive two-day training program for paralegals from Kuje, AMAC, and Bwari Area Councils in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The training, designed to bolster paralegals’ capacities, focused on critical areas of Local Fundraising/Resource Mobilization and Stakeholder Mapping, aiming to enhance community-based legal support and advocacy.
Participants were trained in essential skills such as fundraising strategies, effective resource acquisition, and building robust relationships with community stakeholders. The initiative’s goal was to strengthen the operations of paralegal clinics within these councils, ensuring they are better equipped to serve their communities sustainably and effectively.
By mastering these skills, the paralegals will be able to facilitate increased local support for their activities, allowing for the paralegal clinics’ long-term viability and expanded reach. This empowerment initiative underscores FIDA Nigeria’s commitment to enhancing access to justice, particularly for women and vulnerable groups, through capacity building and strategic community involvement.
