President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Emeka Obegolu, SAN, has extended warm felicitations to Dr. Gbemisola Odusote following her historic appointment as the first female Director-General of the Nigerian Law School since its establishment over six decades ago.
In a congratulatory message, Obegolu described the appointment as a defining milestone for legal education in Nigeria and a clear demonstration of the nation’s gradual but deliberate embrace of merit-driven and inclusive leadership.
“Dr. Odusote’s elevation to this critical position reflects years of professional excellence, intellectual depth, and steadfast commitment to institutional development,” Obegolu stated. “It sends a strong message that the Nigerian legal system is increasingly prepared to reward competence, vision, and service without regard to gender.”
According to him, the Nigerian Law School occupies a strategic position in shaping the ethical and professional foundations of the legal profession, making the appointment both symbolic and consequential.
“At a time when the legal profession must respond to evolving societal expectations, regulatory demands, and global best practices, this appointment inspires confidence that the future of legal training in Nigeria is in capable and progressive hands,” he added.
Obegolu further noted that Dr. Odusote’s achievement stands as a source of encouragement to young lawyers—particularly women—who continue to navigate structural barriers within professional spaces.

“This moment reinforces the principle that excellence remains the ultimate credential. It is a reminder that the Bar must continue to widen pathways for capable professionals to serve at the highest levels,” he said.
He concluded by wishing Dr. Odusote a successful tenure marked by innovation, institutional strengthening, and sustained commitment to the ideals of justice and professional integrity.
