The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested billionaire Hyginus Nkwocha, 35, concerning suspected internet fraud and money laundering. According to a statement released by EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale on Thursday, Nkwocha was apprehended at Ever Green Estate, Lugbe, Abuja, after intelligence reports linked him to fraudulent activities.
Items recovered during Nkwocha’s arrest include $2,200, an iPhone 15 Pro Max, Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, iPhone 13 Pro Max, and a MacBook.

The EFCC also seized a range of luxury items, such as a gold chain, pendant, bracelet, Mercedes Benz ML 350, Chevrolet Camaro, and Mustang car.
Additionally, properties linked to Nkwocha were confiscated, including those at Cookies Court 2, Ocean Palm Estate in Ajah, Lagos; Unit C8, Lugbe Airport Road, Abuja; and Cookies Court 2, Ogombo, Lagos State.
Oyewale confirmed that investigations are ongoing, and Nkwocha will be charged in court once they are concluded.
