A Tesla Cybertruck loaded with fuel canisters and firework mortars exploded outside the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, killing the driver and injuring seven people.
According to reports from the BBC, the rented Cybertruck, originating from Colorado, arrived in Las Vegas on Wednesday morning. Witnesses stated that the vehicle, parked near the hotel’s glass entrance, began emitting smoke before detonating in a powerful blast.
President Joe Biden announced that the White House is closely monitoring the situation and law enforcement is investigating potential links to a recent terrorist attack in New Orleans.
On New Year’s Day, a vehicle plowed into a crowd in New Orleans, killing at least ten and injuring over thirty. The President, addressing the New Orleans incident on his official X account, called it an “act of terrorism” and confirmed the FBI is leading the investigation.
