The Faculty of Law, Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, has announced its Second International Conference, which will be held in a hybrid format from Thursday, 13th to Saturday, 15th November 2025, at the Chike Okoli Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies, UNIZIK, Awka, Anambra State, Nigeria.
Themed “The Future of Trade and Digital Transformation in Nigeria: The Legal Effects,” the conference promises to be an intellectually stimulating gathering of renowned legal scholars, jurists, and policymakers committed to exploring the intersection of law, trade, and technology in shaping Nigeria’s economic and digital future.
Distinguished legal luminary Chief Emeka Obegolu, SAN, Ph.D., President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of the 2025 Nigerian Bar Association Annual General Conference Planning Committee, will serve as Chairman of the Conference.
The Keynote Speaker for the event is Professor Abiodun Amuda-Kannike, SAN, Ph.D., Acting Director, Department of Legislative Support Services, National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Abuja.
Other eminent participants include Dr. Chesaluddin George Kamona of the Philippine Judicial Academy and Hon. Madam Justice Nira La Bansi Sukai Piusni George of the Supreme Court of Judicature, Trinidad and Tobago, who also serves as Deputy Chair of the Judicial Education Institute of Trinidad and Tobago, as Lead Paper Presenters.
The Chief Host of the conference is Prof. Carol Arinze-Umeobi Vice-Chancellor, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, while the Host and Convener is Professor Felicia Anyogu, Dean, Faculty of Law, UNIZIK, Awka.
The Local Organizing Committee is chaired by Rev. Fr. Professor Ikenga O. E. Oraegbunam, who, alongside the organizing team, has assured that the conference will provide a platform for robust academic exchange, comparative insights, and forward-thinking discussions on Nigeria’s legal preparedness for the digital age.
