The family of Tigran Gambaryan, a Binance executive and former US federal agent, has expressed distress after a Nigerian court denied him bail despite meeting all medical requirements. Gambaryan has been unlawfully detained since February 26, 2024, and has not seen his family in over 230 days.
The family stated that Gambaryan was invited to Nigeria for a meeting, during which his passport was confiscated, leading to his detention. He has faced health complications, including pneumonia and malaria, and now requires a wheelchair due to his deteriorating condition.
Yuki has urged the US government to intervene, calling for official recognition of her husband’s unlawful detention and action against the Nigerian government for his release. Gambaryan’s aging mother has also expressed her heartbreak, pleading for her son’s safe return.
His family claims that he is being charged solely because Binance operates virtually. Gambaryan’s wife, Yuki, condemned the court’s decision, emphasizing that her husband is innocent and suffers from significant health issues. She lamented the denial of medical assistance and the toll it has taken on their family, particularly their young son.
As the situation unfolds, the family continues to fight for Gambaryan’s freedom and well-being.
