As Nigeria marks its 65th Independence Anniversary, former National Officer of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Okey Leo Ohagba, Esq., has called on citizens, particularly lawyers and advocates of social justice, to rededicate themselves to building a nation anchored on justice, unity, peace, and prosperity.
Reflecting on the courage and sacrifices of Nigeria’s founding fathers, Ohagba emphasized the unfinished task of strengthening democracy and ensuring that no citizen is oppressed.
He urged members of the legal profession to rise collectively in defense of the rule of law and to work towards a society that truly reflects the aspirations of generations past and unborn.
“Let us rise in unison in our respective roles to strengthen our democracy, uphold the rule of law, and work together to bequeath a nation worth the sacrifices of our heroes past,” he stated.

“Blissful Independence Day, Nigeria!”
Okey Leo Ohagba, Esq.
