The ancient city of Ilorin came alive on Friday, 11th April 2025, as legal luminaries, dignitaries, and community leaders gathered for a historic event; the turbaning of Professor Yusuf Olaolu Ali, SAN, as the 1st Kuliyah Ngeri of Ilorin. Among the distinguished guests in attendance was Aare Olumuyiwa Akinboro, SAN, who joined in honouring the remarkable achievements of his learned colleague and friend.

The ceremony, presided over by His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Kolapo Sulu-Gambari CFR, the Emir of Ilorin, was steeped in tradition, reflecting the rich cultural and religious heritage of the Ilorin Emirate.

The title of Kuliyah Ngeri, a revered position, was conferred upon Prof. Ali in recognition of his exceptional contributions to the legal profession, his tireless community service, and his unwavering commitment to national development.
