With a heart submitted to the will of the Almighty, I mourn the passing of Honourable Justice Umar Ibrahim Abdullahi, the Acting Grand Kadi of the Plateau State Sharia Court of Appeal, who returned to his Maker at midnight.
He belonged to that rare company of judges whose authority was quiet, whose learning was worn lightly, and whose sense of justice was shaped by both law and faith.
To sit in judgment within the Sharia Court of Appeal is to carry a double trust, fidelity to the law and obedience to divine conscience. He bore that trust with dignity, restraint, and devotion.
His passing is first a loss to his family, whose grief is private and profound.

It is also a loss to the judiciary, the Ummah, and Plateau State, which benefitted from his wisdom, balance, and steady commitment to justice.
At this moment of sorrow, I extend my heartfelt condolences to his loved ones, colleagues, and all who served with him.
May Allah forgive his shortcomings, expand his grave, illuminate his resting place, and admit him into Al Jannah Firdaus.
May Allah grant his family and the entire Ummah the strength and fortitude to bear this loss.
Ameen.
