Nasarawa State First Lady, Hajiya Silifat Abdullahi Sule, to Attend YAWC 2024

Her Excellency Hajiya Silifat Abdullahi Sule, First Lady of Nasarawa State, will be a speaker at this year’s Young African Women Congress (YAWC) 2024, the organizers have confirmed. This announcement follows the Nigerian High Commission in Ghana, led by High Commissioner Dayo Adeoye, pledging their support for the event.

Scheduled to take place in Abuja from October 27 to 31, YAWC 2024 will host over 1,500 young women from across Africa, offering them intensive training and mentorship from renowned leaders. The event aims to empower women in various fields, aligning with the theme, “Enhancing Women’s Economic Empowerment through Innovation and Technology.”

YAWC Network Founder and Executive Chairperson, Mr. Daniel Osei Tuffuor, confirmed the participation of H.E. Hajiya Sule after a phone conversation with her office. He highlighted her attendance as a major boost for the program and urged Nigerian women to seize this “life-changing opportunity.”

The Young African Women Congress (YAWC) is a network of women of African descent, focused on leadership and development through advocacy, training, and grassroots mobilization.

Hajiya Silifat Abdullahi Sule, born on October 10, 1963, holds an NCE in Home Economics and a BSc in Food and Nutrition from A.B.U. Zaria. She is married to Governor Abdullahi A. Sule of Nasarawa State and has five children. Upon becoming First Lady, she established the Silifat Abdullahi Sule Hope Foundation, through which she has carried out numerous philanthropic projects benefiting women, youth, and children.
