As we step into the New Year, I extend my warm and heartfelt greetings to the leadership and the entire membership of the Nigerian Bar Association.

“Every new year is a doorway to renewed purpose and higher responsibility,” and I believe 2026 presents us with another opportunity to strengthen our shared commitment to justice and the rule of law.

The New Year calls on us to reaffirm our dedication to professional excellence, the defence of human dignity, and the ideals that define our noble calling.

As lawyers, we remain ministers in the temple of justice, entrusted with the sacred duty to speak for the voiceless, protect the vulnerable, and uphold the supremacy of the Constitution. “The strength of a profession is measured not by its privileges, but by its service to society.”

In the face of evolving legal and societal challenges, I urge members of the Bar to rise with courage, integrity, and unity.

This season of renewal should inspire us to deepen ethical practice, advance meaningful legal reforms, and preserve the honour and independence of our profession. “Justice thrives where conscience leads and integrity stands firm.”

May the New Year strengthen our collective resolve to ensure that wisdom guides our advocacy, fairness shapes our judgments, and service to humanity remains at the heart of our work.

As we journey through 2026, let our actions reflect the enduring values of the Bar and our unwavering commitment to national development.

I wish the Nigerian Bar Association a year filled with progress, peace, professional growth, and impactful contributions to the advancement of justice. Happy New Year, and may the pursuit of justice continue to be our highest duty.
