It is with deep respect and sincere admiration that I extend my warmest goodwill message to the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) Anambra State Branch as you mark the 2025 FIDA Week and Award Day.
This gathering is not just an annual celebration, it is a powerful reaffirmation of FIDA’s timeless commitment to justice, dignity, and the protection of the vulnerable in our society.
This year’s compelling theme, “Unmasking the Pain: An Exploration of the Causes and Consequences of Intimate Partner Violence among Adults,” strikes at the heart of a silent crisis affecting countless individuals across communities.
It calls us to confront the hidden anguish behind familiar smiles, the untold emotional and physical scars carried by many, and the societal barriers that enable such pain to persist.

By boldly engaging this subject, FIDA Anambra once again demonstrates exceptional courage and visionary leadership.
Intimate partner violence is not merely a private matter, it is a deep social wound that compromises safety, destabilizes families, and undermines the very foundation of human dignity.
To “unmask the pain” is to insist that silence must be broken, truth must be told, and healing must be pursued with compassion and justice.
I commend the distinguished chairmanship of this year’s event, the esteemed Chief Host, and the dedicated leadership of FIDA Anambra for organizing a forum that speaks to the very soul of our collective humanity.
Your work continues to shine as a beacon of hope for survivors and a force for reform in our justice system.

As you gather at the FIDA Law Centre, Awka, may this year’s deliberations inspire deeper understanding, stronger advocacy, and renewed action towards ending intimate partner violence in our communities.
Congratulations to FIDA Anambra.
May your voice remain loud, your impact enduring, and your mission ever blessed with strength and purpose.
