The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Sokoto Branch, is set to make history with the maiden edition of its Elders of the Bar Programme, termed as “Elders Hangout’ scheduled to hold on *17th of December, 2025*. This landmark initiative represents the first of its kind in the Branch, conceived solely to recognize, celebrate and honor the invaluable contributions of the most senior members of the legal profession.
At the heart of this laudable initiative is the exemplary leadership of the Caliphate Bar Chairman, Rashidat Mohammed Esq., whose foresight and dedication continue to redefine purposeful service to the Bar. By creating a platform that honours the wealth of experience and contributions of our respected Elders, drawn from the Bench, Bar and Academia across Sokoto, Kebbi, and Zamfara States, the Chairman has demonstrated a rare passion for institutional memory, professional cohesion and intergenerational engagement.
The programme is designed to celebrate *knowledge, experience, mentorship, and service* by bringing together distinguished senior members of the Bar in an atmosphere of mutual respect, unity, and professional fellowship. This will further strengthen intergenerational ties within the profession while fostering collaboration and collective reflection on the growth and future of the legal practice in the region.
The event will serve as a unique networking and reconnecting platform for Elders of the Bar, enabling meaningful engagement among members drawn from the Bench, Bar, and Academia – both retired and actively serving, across Sokoto, Kebbi, and Zamfara States.
The gathering will also underscore the commitment of the current NBA Sokoto Branch administration towards honoring professional excellence and sustaining the rich traditions of mentorship within the legal community.
