In a dramatic address to Israel’s Knesset on Monday, U.S. President Donald Trump proclaimed that a newly brokered peace deal between Israel and Hamas signifies the “end of the age of terror” and ushers in a “new Middle East.”

Trump hailed the ceasefire agreement as the resolution of a protracted conflict, asserting: “This is not only the end of a war, this is the end of the age of terror and death, the beginning of the age of faith and hope of God.”

He praised the cooperation of Arab and Muslim nations in pressuring Hamas to release hostages, calling it a symbol of collective will for peace. “This is the historic dawn of a new Middle East,” he declared, expressing gratitude to partner nations for helping secure the deal.

Trump lauded Israeli leadership, especially Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, commending him for partnership and sacrifice in bringing about the breakthrough: “He’s not the easiest guy to deal with, but that’s what makes him great.”

In his remarks, he also acknowledged the human cost of the conflict and the central role of hostages in the negotiations. “After two harrowing years in darkness and captivity, 20 courageous hostages are returning … it is glorious,” he said.

Trump credited U.S. efforts and airstrikes, including those aimed at Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, as instrumental in reshaping strategic dynamics and weakening terror networks.

He urged both Israelis and Palestinians to adopt peace as their path forward, emphasizing that victories gained by force must now be secured through reconstruction, reconciliation, and enduring diplomacy: “You’ve won. Now it’s time to translate these victories … into the ultimate prize of peace and prosperity.”

Though optimism resonates across capitals, analysts caution that key challenges remain, including disarmament, durable governance in Gaza, and resistance from hardline factions.
