Lady Arrested in Ondo for Allegedly Killing Sister Over ₦800 Debt

A tragic domestic dispute in Akure, Ondo State, has led to the death of a woman, allegedly at the hands of her younger sister over an ₦800 debt.

The suspect, identified as Bosede Iluyemi, reportedly confronted her elder sister, Omowumi Tewogboye, demanding repayment for tomatoes and pepper earlier bought on credit. What began as a heated argument quickly escalated into a violent altercation.

According to eyewitness accounts, Bosede allegedly grabbed Omowumi’s clothes during the quarrel, causing her to fall and sustain injuries. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, Omowumi was pronounced dead on arrival.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Ondo State Police Command, DSP Olusola Ayanlade, said Bosede has been arrested and taken into custody. He added that investigations are ongoing, with an assurance that justice will take its course.
