Maiduguri, Borno State – As the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Maiduguri and Biu Branches prepare to host their 2025 Law Week, Nuhu J. Egya, Esq., has conveyed a message of goodwill commending the initiative and reiterating the importance of the event’s theme, “Technology, Professionalism, and Justice Delivery.”
In his message, Egya applauded the foresight of the branches in curating a programme that addresses pressing issues at the intersection of law and technology.
He remarked that the theme is “both timely and visionary,” especially in light of the profession’s growing need to adapt to technological advances in order to enhance access to justice, uphold professional ethics, and ensure efficiency in justice delivery.
“The legal profession must embrace technology not merely as an innovation, but as an essential tool in promoting the rule of law and safeguarding the integrity of our justice system,” Egya noted.
He further commended the thoughtfully curated sub-themes of the Law Week, which include: E-Filing and E-Affidavit: Prospects and Challenges, Money Laundering and the Rules of Professional Conduct, Social Media from a Legal Perspective, Admissibility of Electronic Evidence in Shari’ah Courts, and Practice and Procedure in the Court of Appeal.
Describing the sessions as “critically relevant to contemporary legal challenges,” Egya expressed confidence that the Law Week would spark robust dialogue and practical insights, while inspiring members of the legal profession—particularly young lawyers—to remain committed to innovation, diligence, and ethical practice.
He concluded by wishing the organizers and participants a successful and impactful Law Week, affirming that initiatives such as this reinforce the Bar’s collective commitment to justice, professionalism, and national development.
The 2025 NBA Maiduguri/Biu Law Week is scheduled to take place from 28th to 30th July 2025 at Borno State Hotels, Maiduguri.
