The International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) Nigeria convened its Second Quarter National Executive Council (NEC) Meeting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on June 25, 2025, at the Portland Resort Hotel.
As part of the meeting, the delegation visited a Safe Home to reaffirm its commitment to supporting vulnerable individuals. Country Vice President (CVP) Eliana Martins led the session, accompanied by Immediate Past CVP Amina Suzanah Agbaje, other National Executives, and members of the FIDA Rivers Branch.
They were warmly received by Prof. Justina Jumbo, the Honourable Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Social Welfare.
CVP Martins highlighted FIDA’s concern for the children, emphasising their value and potential. She assured them of FIDA’s ongoing support, stating, “It is not merely about giving, but about demonstrating compassion and standing in solidarity.”

FIDA Nigeria presented essential supplies, including food, toiletries, and educational materials, symbolising their commitment to the home.
Following the meeting, a cocktail event was held, which included an opening prayer led by the Deputy Country Vice President Emerita and remarks from host Chairperson Mrs. Tamunoibiomie Life-George, with attendance recorded by the National Public Relations Officer and representatives from FIDA’s other forty-six branches present
