The theme, “Uncommon Challenges in a Rapidly Changing Legal Environment,” could not have been more apt. It offered us a lens through which to examine the evolving terrain of legal practice in our time, and I am proud to say that the conversations it sparked have been robust, illuminating, and impactful. Together, we explored the depth of these challenges and charted meaningful pathways to transformation and innovation.
Let me express my sincere appreciation to our distinguished speakers, erudite panelists, and all delegates whose insights and participation breathed life into our deliberations. Your contributions have laid a strong foundation upon which a more agile, responsive, and forward-thinking legal profession can emerge.

I am particularly grateful to His Excellency, Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, for not only honoring us with his presence but also for launching the 2025 NBA-SLP Journal — a remarkable gesture that signifies our shared commitment to excellence and legal reform in Plateau State.
My heartfelt thanks also go to Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, President of the Nigerian Bar Association, for his inspiring leadership, which was felt in every facet of this conference. I must also acknowledge the esteemed presence and input of Hon. Justice Gwong Mann, Chief Judge of Plateau State; the Attorney General of Plateau State; Hon. Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem, President of the Court of Appeal; and Hon. Justice Benedict Kanyip, President of the National Industrial Court.
We were honored by the towering intellect and moral clarity of Bishop Matthew Kukah, whose keynote address stirred us to deeper thought and reflection. I also thank Philemon Daffi and all other dignitaries and participants who, by their presence and active engagement, have indeed written their names in gold on the sands of history.
To Mrs. Boma Alabi, OON, SAN, Chairperson of the NBA-SLP, I owe a debt of gratitude for the trust and confidence she reposed in me by appointing me as Chairman of the CPC. Her support was unwavering, and I consider it both a personal honor and a call to collective service.
To the members of the Conference Planning Committee — you have my heartfelt admiration. Your diligence, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence were the engine behind every success recorded at this conference. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside you.
To all our participants — legal and non-legal alike — thank you for journeying with us. Your energy, your questions, and your passion made this experience richer for us all.

As we depart Jos, I pray for your safe travels and invite you all to carry forward the spirit of collaboration and innovation that we kindled here. Let us, together, continue to work toward a legal profession that reflects the highest ideals of justice, adaptability, and integrity.
May Plateau State know continued peace and progress, and may we all be vessels for the change we wish to see in our nation’s legal landscape.
Warm regards,
Paul Harris Ogbole, SAN
