Father Pleads For Release Of Gospel Singer Accused Of Murder

The father of Timilehin Ajayi, a gospel singer accused of involvement in the tragic death of a corps member, Salome Adaidu, has publicly appealed for leniency in his son’s case.

Ajayi, known for his 2020 album God of the Earth, was taken into custody in Orozo, near the Federal Capital Territory, and is currently under investigation in connection with the incident.

Speaking to Channels Television, Ajayi’s father urged the government to intervene in resolving the matter. “I want the government to help me so that the matter is settled. I want them to help me beg so that he is released,” he said.

In contrast, Ajayi’s mother took a different position, emphasizing the need for accountability. “If it was one of my daughters this happened to, how would I feel?” she asked. “The government can do what they think is right. Everything is in their hands.”

The Nasarawa State High Court has ordered Ajayi’s remand while investigations are ongoing. According to reports, Ajayi admitted to a disagreement with Adaidu during his interrogation, stating that it escalated into a violent confrontation.
