The President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, has officially inaugurated the Governing Board of the NBA Human Rights Institute (NBA-HRI), a key initiative aimed at promoting and protecting human rights, the rule of law, and good governance in Nigeria.
The NBA-HRI was established to effectively advance human rights enforcement in the country and uphold the independence of the legal profession. The Institute also operates a human rights desk in all NBA branches across the nation, with each branch’s human rights committee chaired by the Vice-Chairman of the respective branch.
NBA Reconstitutes Human Rights Institute Governing Board
The 1st Vice President of the NBA, Sebastine Anyia, serves as the Chairman of the Governing Board, reflecting the NBA’s commitment to having its highest-ranking officials take the lead in the promotion of human rights and legal reforms.
The re-constituted Governing Board of the NBA-HRI is as follows:

- Bolatumi Animashaun – NBA 2nd Vice President – Alternate Chairman
- Zainab Aminu Garba – NBA 3rd Vice President – Secretary
