Republican candidate and former U.S. President Donald Trump has won the 2024 presidential election, defeating Democratic candidate Kamala Harris. Trump secured more than the required 270 electoral votes, achieving victories in key states to clinch his return to the White House.
Trump’s campaign claimed wins in traditionally Republican-leaning states such as Arkansas, South Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, and Texas. His decisive victories in battleground states, including Florida and North Carolina, proved pivotal to his overall success.
Kamala Harris, who held strong support in Democratic-leaning states like California, New York, Massachusetts, and Oregon fell short of the votes needed despite leading in these areas. Her anticipated historic bid as the first female U.S. president was thwarted by Trump’s widespread support in key swing states.
Trump’s campaign emphasized a return to his “America First” agenda, focusing on policies around stricter immigration control, economic growth, and national security. His platform included proposals to strengthen border security, reduce taxes, cut regulations, and bring manufacturing jobs back to the U.S., aiming to reduce dependency on foreign products.
This victory marks Trump’s comeback to the presidency following his 2020 loss to President Joe Biden. His pro-American workforce and national security stance resonated strongly with voters, especially in red states and competitive regions, solidifying his path back to the White House.
