The International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA Nigeria) commenced its highly anticipated Triennial Conference with an opening ceremony that also marked the organization’s 60th anniversary. The event celebrated FIDA Nigeria’s six decades of unwavering dedication to advancing justice, equality, and the protection of women’s and children’s rights across the nation.
The opening ceremony was attended by distinguished legal practitioners, advocates, and stakeholders from various sectors, including Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), who represented the association in commemorating the historic occasion.
In his remarks, Mazi Osigwe lauded FIDA Nigeria’s legacy as a trailblazer in the legal profession, emphasizing the transformative impact of its work over the years.
“For six decades, FIDA Nigeria has stood as a beacon of hope for countless women and children, championing their rights and advocating for a society where equality and justice prevail. This remarkable milestone reflects the relentless efforts of FIDA members who have made meaningful strides in shaping a more equitable society through the law,” Osigwe stated.
The NBA President reaffirmed the association’s commitment to partnering with FIDA Nigeria in the pursuit of justice and human rights.
