The newly appointed judges of the Community Court of Justice, ECOWAS, have pledged to uphold judicial independence, integrity and impartiality, while strengthening cooperation within the Bench and promoting timely, effective justice.
In a statement issued on October 20, 2026, the Court’s Public Information and External Relations Division said its President, Hon. Justice Charlyne M. Brumskine, outlined these commitments at the opening of the judges’ five-day orientation programme on October 19.
Justice Brumskine identified independence and integrity, collegiality, and effectiveness as the new College’s priorities. She also emphasised reducing delays, aligning judicial work with the Court’s Strategic Plan 2026–2030 and sustaining engagement with Member States to strengthen compliance with judgments.
