The Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Remuneration Committee, Chief Emeka Obegolu, SAN, FCIArb, Life Bencher, has congratulated the newly sworn-in Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs), describing their elevation as a triumph of excellence, perseverance, and service to the law.
In an emotional message, Chief Obegolu said the rank of SAN is not merely a title but “a responsibility to guide, inspire, and defend,” adding that it represents the highest ideals of advocacy and a solemn call to leadership within the legal profession.
Quoting a timeless maxim, he noted: “Excellence is never an accident; it is the result of high intention, sincere effort, and intelligent execution.” He further urged the new Silks to see their elevation as an opportunity to leave lasting footprints in jurisprudence and to mentor the next generation of lawyers.

“As you don the silk, remember that true greatness lies not in titles but in the impact we leave behind. The Bar, the Bench, and society look to you for wisdom, courage, and leadership rooted in integrity. Be torchbearers who light the path not just for yourselves but for generations of lawyers yet unborn,” he said.
On behalf of the NBA Remuneration Committee, Chief Obegolu prayed for the new SANs, asking that God grant them wisdom, courage, and strength as they continue to contribute to the growth of justice in Nigeria.
