As the 2025 Law Week of the Nigerian Bar Association Ikeja Branch unfolds, goodwill messages continue to pour in, reflecting the branch’s pivotal place in the legal community.
One such message comes from Prof. Foluke Dada-Lawanson, Chair of Lawyers in Academia and former 2nd Vice President of the NBA (2018–2020), who delivered warm felicitations to the Chairman, Executive Committee, and members of the Ikeja Branch.
In her goodwill message, Prof. Dada-Lawanson described the Law Week’s theme, “Preserving the Legal Profession for Tomorrow,” as both timely and compelling.
She noted that the choice of theme speaks to the shared obligation of lawyers to defend the profession’s foundational values—integrity, excellence, and service—while evolving in step with societal change.

“As legal practitioners, we must continually examine and reinforce the pillars of our profession—our ethics, institutions, and legal culture—to remain relevant, resilient, and visionary,” she said.
The former NBA Vice President praised the NBA Ikeja Branch for its continued leadership in promoting intellectual discourse, bold advocacy, and strategic foresight, noting that the branch has remained a “hub of possibilities and progressive leadership within the Bar.”
She concluded with a call for the Law Week to spark meaningful conversations and inspire bold ideas that will shape the future of law in Nigeria, adding, “May this year’s Law Week be a catalyst for growth, innovation, and generational impact.”
