The President of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria has issued a call for expressions of interest for the appointment of two judges from the origins of Anambra and Oyo States.

This announcement was made in a letter dated January 15, 2025, and the request was received on January 22, 2025.

Eligible Candidates:
Members of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) who are qualified and interested in serving on the bench of the National Industrial Court are encouraged to submit their expressions of interest to the National Secretariat of the NBA by February 21, 2025.

Required Documents:
Expressions of interest should include:

  1. A copy of the Applicant’s Curriculum Vitae
  2. A copy of the Applicant’s Call to Bar Certificate
  3. Evidence of payment of Bar Practicing Fees (BPF) for the past 10 years
  4. Evidence of payment of NBA Branch Dues for the past 10 years
  5. Evidence of attendance at NBA Conferences
  6. Evidence of membership in Sections or Fora of the NBA
  7. Certified true copies of at least six judgments in contested cases within the last five years
  8. A letter of good standing from the Chairman of the applicant’s Branch confirming adherence to the qualities outlined in the National Judicial Council Guidelines.

Qualities Required:
Applicants must exhibit qualities such as good character, integrity, and a strong understanding of industrial relations and employment law, along with documented professional experience.

Electronic Submission:
Candidates are also required to upload an electronic copy of their expression of interest and accompanying documents using the designated link provided in the announcement.

Transparency and Screening:
Upon receipt of applications, the National Secretariat may publish the names of interested candidates for member comments. Selected candidates may be invited for a screening interview.
