The Nigerian Bar Association Women’s Forum (NBAWF) is dedicated to promoting the welfare of women in the legal profession, advocating for gender equality, and ensuring a supportive community for female lawyers. Guided by a vision of empowerment, solidarity, and progress, the NBAWF aims to create an environment where women are celebrated, supported, and able to thrive in their careers.
Recently, the Plateau chapter of the NBAWF organized a landmark event with the theme “No Excuse for Violence: Empower the Female Lawyer,” highlighting the urgent need to address violence against women while fostering awareness of the NBAWF’s objectives among female lawyers.
The event attracted a diverse group of participants, including aspiring female lawyers, seasoned practitioners, and members of the legal community. The primary aim was to create a platform for dialogue on the pressing issue of violence against women and its implications within the legal profession.
Bar Freda Izam, a distinguished member of the NBAWF Governing Council, graced the event with her presence. Her support and encouragement of the attendees underscored the importance of unity and empowerment within the legal community.
