NBA Jalingo Moves to Build Financial Independence

The Nigerian Bar Association, Jalingo Branch, has proposed the establishment of a Bar Investment and Sustainability Fund as part of efforts to strengthen its financial independence.

Branch Chairman Dr Daniel Philemon Saredau announced the proposal during the branch’s general meeting.

Under the proposed arrangement, members would contribute to the fund according to their years of post-call experience.

Saredau said sustainable income-generating initiatives could reduce the branch’s traditional dependence on financial assistance from government institutions and individuals for its activities.

The proposal introduces a broader conversation within branch administration about sustainable financing and the ability of professional associations to fund programmes from independently generated resources.
