The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has announced the launch of the NBA Digital Welfare Portal, a secure online platform designed to provide members and their families with faster and more convenient access to essential welfare services.
According to an official communication issued by the Nigerian Bar Association and signed by the National Welfare Secretary, Auta Nyada, the initiative represents another major step in the Association’s efforts to use technology to improve service delivery and simplify welfare administration.
Through the new portal, members can apply for the NBA-NHIA Group, Individual and Family Social Health Insurance Programme, renew their enrolment and register eligible dependants under the scheme.
Members can also request a change of healthcare facility and submit death-benefit claims electronically without making physical submissions at the NBA National Secretariat.
The platform further enables applicants to track their requests, receive real-time electronic updates and access receipts, confirmations and other relevant records through their accounts.
The NBA explained that digitising these services would eliminate cumbersome paper-based procedures and allow lawyers to access welfare support from any location and at any time.
The initiative is expected to improve transparency, reduce processing delays and provide a more seamless experience for members seeking assistance through the Association’s welfare programmes.
The official announcement encouraged all eligible members to take advantage of the portal and benefit from its faster, simpler and more transparent application process.
The NBA described the development as the beginning of a new era in the delivery of digital welfare services to Nigerian lawyers and their families.
The announcement was signed by Auta Nyada, National Welfare Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association for the 2024–2026 administration.
