In a refreshing start to the day, conferees of the 56th Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Association of Law Teachers (NALT) took to the streets for a vibrant Health Walk, a signature feature of this year’s event, themed around wellness and community engagement.

Among the enthusiastic participants was Professor Foluke Dada-Lawanson, who joined colleagues and friends in the early morning walk that blended fitness, camaraderie, and purpose. The initiative, which took place in October, widely recognized as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, served as a timely reminder of the importance of physical activity, early detection, and intentional self-care.

Reflecting on the exercise, Professor Dada-Lawanson remarked that while “health is often called wealth,” it is truly “the foundation for everything else we hope to become.” She described the walk as more than just a fitness routine but a shared experience that reinforced the value of mental, emotional, and communal wellness among legal educators.

The morning session featured light workouts, interactive moments, and cheerful exchanges among participants, setting a positive tone for the rest of the conference. As NALT 2025 continues, the health walk stands out as a thoughtful integration of wellbeing into academic and professional development — underscoring the message that a sound body nurtures a sound mind.
