I am deeply saddened by the troubling news of the abduction of some of a New Wig and her sister, along the Okene axis in Kogi State, as they made their way home from the recent Call to Bar ceremony.

This unfortunate incident is a painful reminder of the insecurity that continues to plague our nation. It is distressing to imagine the fear and anguish these victims and their families must be experiencing. No family should be subjected to such trauma.

I urge our security agencies to rise to this challenge with immediate and decisive action. Their safe rescue must be treated as a matter of utmost priority, and concrete steps must be taken to secure our highways so that Nigerians can travel without constant fear.

The protection of human life is the first duty of the state, and the safety of our citizens – especially those who have chosen the noble path of justice and service – must never be compromised.

My prayers remain with the abducted victims and their families in this harrowing time. May they be returned safely and swiftly, and may we as a nation come to know the day when safety on our roads is guaranteed.
