Prof. Foluke Dada-Lawanson, Chair of the Lawyers in Academia Forum and former 2nd Vice President of the Nigerian Bar Association (2018–2020), has extended a warm goodwill message to the NBA Kaduna Branch in celebration of its latest programme.
In her message, Prof. Dada-Lawanson commended the Kaduna Branch for choosing a timely and impactful theme: “Strengthening the Legal Profession: Ethics and Innovation in Contemporary Practice.”
She described the theme as deeply resonant with the principles of the legal profession, stressing the importance of upholding ethical standards while embracing innovation to meet modern-day challenges.
“As legal practitioners, we bear a profound responsibility to uphold the highest ethical standards, ensuring justice is not only done but seen to be done. In an ever-evolving world, clinging to rigid, outdated approaches would be a disservice to the public we serve,” she stated.
She further emphasized that innovation is not optional but essential for the legal profession to thrive. According to her, embracing new technologies, evolving legal strategies, and adaptive methodologies will significantly improve the quality and reach of legal services in Nigeria.

Prof. Dada-Lawanson praised the Kaduna Branch for facilitating such important conversations and reaffirmed her belief that integrating ethics and innovation would propel the Nigerian legal profession to greater heights.
She concluded by commending the Branch’s consistent efforts toward professional development and the advancement of justice, calling their commitment “truly commendable and vital”.
